Visit to Yazaki factory
On 8th April 2019, we have visited our member Yazaki Srbija.
Representatives of JBAS members, together with H.E. Mr. Junichi Maruyama, Ambassador of Japan to Serbia and Montenegro, and Embassy’s representatives, have visited JBAS member Yazaki Srbija in the City of Sabac.
Our hosts on this occasion were Mr. Munenori Yamada, Chairman of Yazaki Europe Limited and Mr. Ahmed Bedewy, General Manager of Yazaki Srbija.
During the visit, the members had an opportunity to learn more about Yazaki, company’s culture and especially its strong commitment to corporate social responsibility and its activities in Serbia, as the first Japanese greenfield investment in Serbia, but also to find out more about the company’s plans and further initiatives.
In less than two years of its activities in Serbia, Yazaki has already reached a lot of milestones, invested around 31 million euros and employed almost 2.700 employees, with a plan of realizing additional investments during 2019 and reaching the number of more than 3.400 employees by June 2020.
As the President of JBAS, Mr. Pekez, pointed out, the importance of Yazaki’s presence in Serbia is manifold and could be seen through its contribution to the development of local community, sharing the positive experience related to doing business in Serbia among other potential Japanese investors and through promotion of good practices from Japanese business culture – implementation of kaizen principles. As confirmed by H.E. Mr. Maruyama, the success story of Yazaki in Serbia should be shared widely within the Japanese business circles, where the role of JBAS is very important.
After the meeting and plant tour, where the participants had the opportunity to get more detailed information about Yazaki’s business model, H.E. Mr. Maruyama has planted the cherry tree as a memory of the visit.
